I'm looking to buy some embroidery threads and was wondering roughly how much I should be paying for them. I've seen quite a few lots on Ebay but am unsure what price is reasonable per skein.

About 40 to 60 pence would be reasonable.

I bought some off ebay and thought I got a good deal. That was before Wal-Mart moved into our town. You can buy a pack of 50 skeins, all different colors, for around $9. Check out Wal-Mart on-line; they might do free shipping or a special on shipping because of the holidays.

hi, i stumbled on that eBay is the appropriate place for thread and have offered it at lots value-some is new, some is used. put in the seek for embroidery thread. i would be a guy or woman that provide you with with the appropriate deal. while you're searching for a starter equipment with greater colours, then, probably, attempt a keep. yet, the mark downs is quite significant. as an occasion, I have been given some 5000m spools for 2.50. i won't be able to assure those costs, even though that's well worth a attempt. appropriate needs to you.

I'm in BC too - and would love to know where I can pick up DMC at 3 for $1.00

I usually pick up a good stash of colours when I go south into WA state. I'd love to have a closer source.

Remember if you are buying off e-bay or the like, that you will have shipping charges to add on.

In W. Canada, we can get DMC skeins on sale for three for a dollar. Specialty threads, like metallic, cost more.

I prefer to go for quality - but of course if it's cheap and stilll a quality product - so much better!

DMC is a good brand, Coats and Clark is kind of ok and the no-name, dollar store stuff if pure crud.

Watch out for dyes that run (usually red, blue, purple, green or black) with the cheaper stuff.

Texere yarn bags are good value for a wide mix of textured threads in shades of one colour.

the best way to compare prices is to go to ur craft store and see what they charge when it is not on sale and also when it is on sale and then get the ebay price with s&h and compare the price. Somehow I think the price in ur store is gonna b better.
