Seriously,I didn't call this person. I just took the phone number because he kept begging me to take it. I forgot to throw it out and now my boyfriend thinks I'm cheating on him.

think how you would feel if the situation were reversed? but i know how you feel, i take numbers even though i have no interest in calling that person, i mean some guys cant take no for an answer. all you can do is tell the truth.

Simply, let him know that as you are only in a 'relationship' with you he can take your word for it, as you are an adult who doesn't need to explain yourself or decisions to anyone. However, either he can trust you or trust that you won't trip off of his insecurities, as for the phone number let him have it, call it, or whatever but let him know your not a child your word is your word and if he can't handle that there is a possibility of doubt in his mind about your fidelity let him know he can keep it moving!
