I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY FIRST CHILD, IT WILL GET BETTER, TRY AND PLACE A HOT WATER BOTTLE ON YOUR LOWER BACK AND IF THE PAIN IN YOU LEGS GET TO BAD TAKE A HOT BATH , BUT NOT TO HOT DUE TO YOU BEING PREGNANT AS THE HEAT TAKES SOME OF THE PAIN AWAY.
GOOD LUCK & HAPPY PREGNANCY.

There is not alot that you can do with the pain of the sciatic nerve. I had that pain really bad with my last baby and the only thing that worked for me was taking warm baths but other than that there was not alot that I could do. Best of luck.

Usually your siatic nerve will have sharp pains in your butt. More your butt than your lower back. You can see a chripractor when you are pregnant. I would suggest asking your doctor about it to make sure it's not serious, and seeing a chripractor as well. Good luck. Be careful. It's better to know from a professional, then to ask people on line. Don't risk anything, no matter how minor. Good Luck and Congradulations.

It all depends.... some woman get these pains early on and they go away....some get it the whole time...... Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. I refer to it almost daily right now and I am due Feb 2, 2007. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

could be a pinched sciatic nerve, what can be done to alleviate the pain is for you to have traction done about 6 times over a 2 week period

Hmmm that sounds like a trip to the GYNO. I wouldn't mess around with being pregnant. Could just be your body changing due to being pregnant and the wait you will gain and it is tough to carry around a little one. But I am no doctor so I would go and talk with the GYNO if I were you.

Talk to your doctor about this, but a woman's body goes through so many changes that each person is different. Usually, unless you have had problems in the past, it will adjust itself and you will just just be a miserable prefnant woman! It may pass, but talk to your doctor about it.

I had the same thing, be careful because sometimes your leg can give out on you, at least it did for me. For me, it only got worse as the baby got bigger, even to the point of my leg giving out on me and I fell down, so be very careful. Especially when walking down stairs, always keep hold of the rail. I fell down while going down THREE steps, but only fell on my knees and not my belly...thank God!

It could be just the baby kicking. But just incase any pain should be reported to your doctor.
