considering you are not at home asking this question and at work...take this time to look for part time jobs in the evening. If you are cleaning an apartment every few weeks, why not try to do your own little side gig and do more houses or apartments. If you have family that is willing to help watch the children while you earn extra $$ that is your answer. If you are unable to pay your bills off you can consider filing for bankruptcy - it screws your credit for 7 years, but if you're not getting anywhere on the bills, then it's an option. My mom raised 3 children, went without eating and things for herself so that we could have clothes and such. We shopped at good will and i didn't know any better, i thought it was the greatest thing goin. As much hoopla as people put on presents, it's about being with your family and making the most of the time together. I would consider asking family to help watch the kids while you work a second part time job to earn more money, when you work hard for your family and prove that, people are more willing to help out. Good luck and god bless!

Well....if you need to earn money you should try and do something that could not only benefit you but also benefit someone else.
If you can spare about 3 hours you should go down to your local blood bank and I think they will pay you to donate your blood, but it is more than blood they want, it is something else that they take out of your blood (maybe platelets?), I know in New Orleans they pay about $20 a pop to do it. I have never done it but a friend of mine does it, not for the money though. I think you can do it several times per month and you will also be helping sick people.
If there is a college in your area that does research you can call them and a lot of times they have different research programs going on and you can tell them you would like to participate (they pay).
You can also call your local church and most are willing to donate items that you might need so that you won't have to spend the extra money on that (food, clothes) and you can save for your kids' Christmas, a lot of times they can put off bill collectors for a short time if you need that.
You should also know of different state run programs like WIC (women, infant, children) they offer free formula, milk, cheese, peanut butter, etc. to families that are below a certain income level.
Then you can always go cell your cd's to a local store, I know we had a music store that bought back used cd's for $5 each only on Tuesdays.

You will have to do some odd jobs. Sounds like you already are doing one (cleaning apartments). What about babysitting? If you need money in a pinch you could donate blood. (I couldn't do that one. Afraid of needles.) You might have to pawn something like an old wedding ring or engagment ring. I had to do that once for diapers. I lost the ring but it is something you have to live with. Find more homes to clean. I really wish I had something better to say here. I used to be in your situation but after I married my husband things got a lot better. He is a car salesman and he makes good money. Do you think you could sale? It is great money. We went from welfare and a small apartment to a two story house and Infinities in the driveway within a year. He is the bread winner. I sell italian charms here and there. I make $50 per bracelet. What state do you live in? I would help you if I could. We always help people who need it because we remember what it was like to struggle like that. We are far from rich but we are not dirt poor anymore, however, we will never forget who we are and where we came from. We buy people food when they need it and help with bills. A woman with kids was standing in front of my husband at the grocery store check out and she was $30 dollars short. He paid it without even knowing her name. We call it "Paying it forward". Have you ever seen that movie? Pay it Forward? I want to help you I just don't know how. I really hope you figure something out. How many children are you trying to take care of?

There is no easy and quick way to make money. If there were, everyone would do doing it and getting rich. There just isn't a money tree out there in anyones backyard, and that is the reality of it.
Does you state have public aid? If you are working, and qualify for public aid, there is really no reason you shouldn't make ends meet. Lots of people do it. You need to be sure you are seriously cutting back on non-essentials (and we are all guilty of this - including myself). Use coupons, buy only stuff that is on sale. Make every penny count and you might be surprised with what you save. No Starbucks.

You're gonna have to get a job and work out something regarding the housework. It's nobody's job but yours to keep food on the table for those "mouths" and nobody's fault but yours that you're in this pickle and the guy above with the comment about being on a computer has a point-
If my kids were at risk of not eating or having christmas, I think I could survive without the internet and my computer could sit in a pawn shop..
P.S. State aid is for people who need it- people who work their asses off and still can't make ends meet- not irresponsible lazy people that run up credit card bills and sit at home on their asses on Y/A forums.

You gotta do what you gotta do. Leave the laundry and the cleaning till the weekend and get a job.
Yeah and cut up the credit card since you have no control.

Call a credit counselor and use their advice. Anything else will just be a quick fix and won't help you in the long run. Good luck.

I agree with the others, you have to be on this site. Take that time and turn off the internet provider service. Cut back.. look at where it's going.

I would recommend canceling your cards and paying them off.
Secondly, get another job and stay off the computer. You should have done that a long time ago....sorry but the truth hurts and reality is what it is.

If you own your car, you could always pawn the title. You will pay outrageous interest charges, but it's a quick way to get some money.
