I LUV AFI!!!!!! they are the best band ever. I especially luv Davey and Jade, but Adam and Hunter are cool too. i have never meet them, but ive heard that they are the nicest guys you'll ever meet. I hate it when people post questions about Davey's sexuality, its not nice and it invades his privacy. I really want to go see them when they come to Atlanta in december, but i dunno if im gonna be able to go cause its in the middle of the week. *cries* btw i like ur name, its cool. Wanna be friends?

OK so this question is easy. A Fire Inside [AFI] is in my opinion a great band. It took a long time for them to be where they are now. They progressed from the Berkeley Punk Scene back in the late 80's early 90's. They played with such bands as Rancid, Misfits & other greats like Tim Armstrong. If you don't know any of these bands than obviously your music education is not finished. They're not "emo" as a previous answer mentioned. They were really punk a long time ago with hard lyrics and tough beats. Then as time progressed their music also grew and changed. "Black Sails In The Sunset" is a great album, released in 1999, back when "emo" wasn't evented by music studios to sell more cds to kids. If you listen to that CD it could be consider to be a little "emo" but back then we just called music that didn't fit in any genre "PuNk". Either way AFI is one of my fav. bands. I'm not just someone who makes their opinion based on no knowledge at all. I've been listening for almost 10 yrs. I've been to countless shows (they have great presence on stage by the way). I don't know of any othger lead signer that jumps into the pit and then is raised up and help up by his fans as he finishes singing the song.

Still can't get over how Davey Havok has such huge muscles for being an emo kid (no offense, but when you think emo, you usually think little scrawny guy)
