You need to get on FL medicaid ASAP...my cousin and I live in FL. She had no insurance and that's what she did, she got medicaid, WIC, and there's another program that I can't remember the name of right now (it's offered usually through your OB). You can find the info online, just do a search. Also there is FL Kids program (my mind is blank with names today, so sorry) that can help you get free insurance for your 3 year old. Congrats and best of luck!

I was in the same boat as you, what I did was change jobs. I took a job as a cashier in a large chain store that offered an HMO, they took me without checking for pre exsiting conditions, and they paid for the delivery of the baby. I was made to work up until the day I delivered, and I only got to take 4 weeks off after the baby was born. I know I still feel good that I was able to do it on my own, instead of havig to rely on the government to pick up the tab. You don't sound like your a slacker either. I had my kids 3 and 4 yrs apart, it was the perfect spacing. Good Luck and Congratulations!!

Go to your local public assistance office and see if you are eligible for Medicaid. I don't know about FL but NC has a specific Medicaid for pregnant women. As a last resort, most doctors offices and hospitals will help set up a payment plan for you but you'll be paying for a while.
Good luck and congratulations.

There are actually alot of option out there for you with not having insurance. I would first call your local health department. There is also baby your baby that you can call. And baby your baby is basically like having medicare they will take care of the prenatal for you. And also with your son I would check the local health department because there are also programs out there for children that don't have insurance either but I would also check out these websites on maternity insurance.

Try your county assistance office. Often times they will give the entire family medical assistance, even if you are married, especially if you can't afford medical insurance. Good luck and I wish you and your baby the best of health.

Contact your local department of Family & CHildren Services. They can give you information about WIC and Medicare that your faimly may be eligible for. SPeak to a social worker there, and they can point you in the right direction.

You might check with your local social services office as you may be eligible for free state sponsored health insurance because you are pregnant. Good luck to you!

You guys need to get your act together. One of you needs to get a steady full time job that offers insurance. Go to your local health department and see if you can qualify for medicaid and wic. In the meantime, if you're not working, you need to pick up a job and start saving money.

Contact your local Medicaid office. They usually have a plan that covers for pregnancy related expenses for those who qualify.
Good luck.
