Take one thought at a time,,during the day,,and think it through. We all need still time to gather our thoughts.Put everything in the right perspective,,like,,you can do what you can do about this or that & that is all,,then move on.I hope that helped some.

I know how you feel, I've been there too. For me I was going through a depression (although I never realized myself that I was depressed, several people approached and thought I should get some help). My mind and thoughts only stopped when I was wrapped up in my work. If I had any down-time... well, like I said I was like you. I finally went to a psychologist as well as a psychiatrist. I was prescribed 300 mg Well-Butrin. It took a couple weeks to kick in, but it did help. This worked for me but everyone's different. Sometimes people are just stressed and they don't even realize they are. If this is not your thing, then try joining a gym this has also helped relieve stress for me. Good luck with everything :)

I learned a technique from a hypnotist about 25 years ago. Check into self hypnosis, it helped for me! I think it was more of a training method to learn to relax and sleep, not really hypnotism.
When I can't seem to shut my mind off, I agree with the post on breathing, that really helps. I start with thinking about my toes, and relaxing that part of my body, and working all the way through. Usually by the time I'm reaching my arms, my mind is much clearer, and I've relaxed and can sleep. Hope that helps!

This is going to be hard... In such moments I am always thinking about someone special (my "Iris" :) ). I have always the same situation, the same questions, worries, answers, ideas, but somehow it is the only one thing here on Earth that deep inside gives me hope and a little peace I need. Think about people you love, care... Feelings about people you know should rid your head from other problems, because you care about them that much that they can take all focus.

I think one simple way to meditate is concentrating on the point in your body between the two eyebrows called "third eye chakra", that is called meditating on third eye chakra. It reduces thoughts and it is also believed to develope intellectuality and intuition spiritually.

My ways are, concentrate totally on the sensation of breathing. My mind will wander, I give it 2 seconds to wander and then bring it back. Over and over I focus more and more on the feeling and sound of breathing in and breathing out. I don't manipulate my breathing, just allow it to be. That's one way that's easy.

I listen to music. When I'm frustrated and angry or even sad it would be rock or metal. It doesn't seem very calming and my mom will never understand it. But it really works!!
