its ok i am currently a freshman at the University of the Arts and right now all you do is basic stuff like perspective shading in black and white drawing straight lines over and over again so if you don't know how to use color its ok they teach you all that stuff your freshman year. for example there are kids in my class that are going for film but have to take studio classes that can't even draw so if all you can do is black and white its ok they will help you and teach you as for money i can just tell you this athe Art field is a hard one you can always be an art teacher and make money thats always a garentee. you have to remember there are alot of fields when it comes to the arts, illustration, animation, photograhy, film, print making, book arts, art director, art education, graphic design, sculpture. so try to find what you want to pursue do research and see what schools have to offer like internships and other things like that i know im only a freshman in college but i had alot of expierce i talked to my guidence counslor, art teacher, i did research and thats all you have to do good luck and even if you don't go with a career in the art you can always find spare time to draw and try to sell your work

Only one way to find out. Before you blow money on a school try the library. Get some of the serious books on art instruction. Most things are done on a computer now. Always remember, in this kind of thing, like the gold mining industry, it's the little guy who usually makes it. Big companies usually go broke. That's why they try to ' appropriate ' the little guy. If a sheepskin's all your looking for, it might not be a bad idea.

Hey! First off, I think it's great that you like NYU! Its a fantastic university and it has an amazing music program. Unfortunately, I don't know very much about the music business program, but I do know about the musical theatre program. Tisch and Steinhart both have musical theatre programs, but they are different. The Steinhart program is through the vocal performance major, so the main focus is voice. Tisch is the school of the arts, so its musical theatre program is much more focused on acting and dancing. Obviously both schools cover singing, acting, and dancing, but the main focuses are different. Basically, Steinhart is for singers who like to act and Tisch is for actors who like to sing. A very important thing to note about Tisch is that its entire program was remodeled about a year ago. The old program was called CAP21. CAP21 left Tisch to become its own conservatory and Tisch was left on its own. So if you are planning on auditioning for musical theatre at NYU, you should also heavily consider auditioning at CAP21 because, up until about a year ago, it was a part of NYU, and when people talk about the musical theatre program at Tisch, 9 times out of 10 they are actually talking about CAP21, before it left NYU. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you are successful!

depends.. I am a kinetic artist (motorized sculpture) and am self taught.. Who is going to tell you what art is or is not. better yet Who is going to tell you how to make your art. I draw plenty of sketches for machines and of funny Gary Larson style people and would like to see your work. Also do some research on making a portfollio review or ask some artist or students to look at your work and then go to a gallery or museum and see if they like it. your subject matter will tell you where to go. Also try to get in some art shows. Just follow your dreams and your heart but never stop asking for directions and advice on wich road to take. God bless.
