it's an extension of the demeaning term 4 women, a Bird.
here in the Uk b4 we were labelled Chicks,
we were referred 2 as birds.

I would only call a girl a chick if she is way cool. Like a kicked back kind of girl that doesn't have to be proper all the time. U might not want to call a girl chick to her face if UR not sure. But if UR tellin someone she's a cool chick than its cool! I call my self a chick cuz Im down like that. I cant tell U exactly what it means but it is in reference to a girl/woman, and if not used correctly could be taken offense to. So be careful! When I close my eyes and picture a "Chick" shes chillin on the beach w/ her hair down in a comfy outfit fit for the beach!!
