WHAT EVER YOU DO...DON'T WRITE YOUR OWN MONOLOGUE!!!!! You do not want the director to ask you, WHO WROTE THAT? OR WHAT PLAY IS THAT FROM?, and have a lame answer like, oh I wrote it because I couldn't find anything.

I agree with writing your own. It's usually fairly easy if you do your research and get in the right mind set, and if its a character you've made, it's much easier to play her and figure out her motivations.
Taking monologues from movies for drama exams and performances is a bad, bad idea. When most people look at those kinds of performances (especially markers) they expect to see a completely new interpretation of the character, not a knock off of a woman from a popular movie. Coming up with a new interpretation for a character is a difficult thing to do that takes a lot of talent, and I've seen many performances go wrong just because they were trying to act like Angeline Jolie's characters Lisa from Girl, Interrupted, because they were just trying to churn out a copy of her interpretation of the character. Just because you can copy the tone of her voice doesn't mean you have the same understanding of the character, and that's what comes through in a performance.

Try the play "To Gillian on her 37th Birthday" by Michael Brady. The main character is a girl named Rachel, about 16, and she has a great monologue about the last time she saw her mother before she died.
The link below is a New York Times review about the play

Well you can take a monolouge from any major movie now a days. So I recommend...going through some of your favorite movies and using one of those to obtain your monolouge.
Hope that helps.

maybe you should try making your own up cause thats what i do when i have a monologue. Maybe the girl's talking all serious and she's a drug abuser and she just took an overdose on pills. yell something like " WHAT AM I DOING TO MYSELF!" and just some other things then call the cops and turn yourself in. Drop the phone and then just die or something. If you would like my help in making one Just email me or something. Good Luck!
