Yeah Pittsburgh is great I love it here. I have lived in other cities to but Pittsburgh is the best place of them all there is so much to do here plus it's really coming up. So YES it's a great place. Just misunderstood at times by people who never been here.

I live here and I think it's ok. It's not as nice as some places but not as bad as others. At least the cost of living is pretty cheap. But there isn't much to do here, especially in the winter. I just went to the Pgh zoo and it was a bore. Barely anyone was there. We couldn't even find that many animals to look at. Nothing like Sea World or the Crocodile Hunter's zoo in Australia. No excitement whatsoever. But on the other hand there's a lot of clubs and bars if you're into that. And the shopping here is decent, but you have to go into the suburbs to find any malls. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate Pittsburgh a 5.

Althogh I've never been I own a 1909 travel and tourisim guide and would like to go and see what remains from my book. As to your Question. Yes! Especially since it is going throug a rebirth of sorts I love older cities and towns. particurly if the are of the old industrial type and are filled with old and new buildings such as Jax. Fl. where I used to live and spent most of my freetime downtown at the museum or a junk store. you might try reading up on Pittsburgh's history or join a historical preservation society or art guild and become part of somthing speacial where you live.

I have lived in pittsburgh most of my life. I only really liked it when i lived in Charleston SC and i came home for vacations. Its fine for a week or so, but after 20+ years it gets really really old. After 5 and on the weekends it seems like the only thing do do here is get wasted in a bar. Since i dont drink or like drunk people, i am usually pretty bored until i get out of town. People here dont even say "do you want to go out to the bar" they say "do you want to go get drunk". We were named in a recent study by forbes magazine as the #2 city in the US for binge drinking. Also I travel alot and have only encountered a few cities that are dirtier than Pittsburgh. Everything seems to go out the car window, cups, bags, bottles and especially cigarette butts. They are everywhere. the whole town looks like an ashtray. Its Ok, but I honestly wouldent say I like living here. If people had as much pride for taking care of their city as they do for football here, it would be an awsome town. If i wasent as tied down by my job/house/inlaws. I would love to move. still not sure why I ever came back especially after living in Charleston.

It's a beautiful city. It's big enough that we have a lot of big business (world headquarters) and culture (Pittsburgh Symphony, theater, art, museums, etc.).
Yet, it's still small enough that you can walk the entire circumference of downtown in about 1/2 hour. It's the perfect balance of big city and small town.

yes! It's beautiful. I love all the bridges and the way all the houses are built up on the hill. I don't know why people always talk about it being grimy...they should come to Philadelphia for a day. Haha.
