I did a paper for a Marriage and Family class, "Divorce and the Effect it has on American Society." I did a questionnaire and gave it to divorced people, did some research on the Internet, and then used my personal experience. It was a 400 Level Soc class...my professor liked it very much...just come up with some good multiple questions and give it to an even number of people and use percentages...try this it worked for me

well in my opinion divorce effects each and every family , and family member diffrently , some kids will be happy that there other parent is no longer in the home because now they can get away with what the other parent wouldnt let them get away with , then there are children who feel that there the reason y mom n dad r no longer together so they close down from others not letting them selfs get close to someone for fear that the person will leave them to ( this can also happen to children whos parents pass away )
some kids will turn rebillious , some will jsut go on lik e nothing happened so each family and child is diffrent when it comes to divorce / as for the parents that get divorce , some may be able to remain friends when kids are involved some may not , but no matter how each parent may feel about the other they shouldnt talk bad about the other parent in the presence of the children / as for the inlaws , well it can be hard on them to go to the other persons home to see the children etc but its best that all family members aunts uncles g pas and g mas remain a active part of the childs life and to try to remain friends or atleast civel wit hthe other parent
as for afect on society etc well theres a chance that the mom or absent parent may not have a good education or has been out of the work force for a long period of tim e or may have never had a job so theres the chance that they may need some form of finacial aid , medical insurence etc thus the state picking up some or all of the bill / then theres the friends that both parties estabilished as a whole , some friends may not know how to react towards the other , or if i invite billy over i cant invite sue over , so divorce affects everyone friends family kids , etc

Divorce, I have just went through it. The children are the real victims, your life may go on, but the child, they are introduced to new people, they are pulled around, they are the true victims. Divorce is horrible, I have one child, and she is often sad because she doesn't want to leave me, as I know she doesn't want to leave her father as well. We tried to get back together, and work things out, but it didn't happen. I hope that your presentation comes out good, do alot of research, educate everyone who hears it. Now days it is too easy to get a divorce, almost as if they are encouraging people to get them. I believe that the counseling you have to go through prior to your divorce is not enough. The children should be included in this as well. But as for now its only for the parents. Good luck..

I think you should pick a tiny part of that to do your presentation, as there hundreds of books out there on that exact problem. You could limit to even how does divorce affect children under the age of 3. again there are books, but you will have a better chance with a limited scope

Divorce affects the family. Depression is very common for ex-spouses Young children can especially be affected. Grades can fall and sometimes trust can be an issue.

Divorce is difficult on the children...usually puts women in a financial struggle if given custody since we are paid less usually then men...so more welfare or support from the state since child support enforcement agencies are overwhelmed with deadbeat dads.
