It is called the big lie. The fox has long since departed with the chicken before the farmer ever gets the story straight. The public is misled, whipped into a patriotic frenzy by the "threat from outside," and the war has long raged on before the population wakes up and starts to say no. By this time there is nothing one can decently say about the loss of life, the hundreds of billions spent God knows where, and the great strain on the country.

sure and everyone that votes knows the truth and all the intricate details that went into the planning. NEWS TO DEMS. WE DONT HAVE A DEMOCRACY. This is because the masses have no clue about reality. SEE THIS SITE. When the people take control there is never any headwind and the countries die out. SEE ROME, BRYZANTINE, GREECE, CHIN.

for your new details. this is simple. because you didn't have the liberal media spewing venomous half truths and the so ingrained liberal agenda causing us to loose the war. I guarantee that if you had camera crews on Omaha beach on dday really showing what was going on you would have had riots in the streets to get us out of their. the fact is war is hell and people die. these hippi do gooders will never understand this until we are all dead.

The people should back a war that the people whom they elected deem necessary. The lack of support and the arrogance of the media and some of the people who back them cause our country a great deal of trouble. I was in the service during Vietnam and saw the damage that they did.

The Iraq war was not supported by 13% of the population when it started. Vietnam was not supported by less than 10% of the population when it started.

Get your facts straight.

USA is a Republic with a Democratic form of government.

Of the people, by the people.

We elect people to represent us..congress/senate; while I do not think that ALL Americans have to be supportive of a war, all should certainly support the military and not try to undermine the war effort, by giving credence to the enemy.

Both wars WERE supported by the people in the beginning.
Your premise was wrong, so your conclusion was naturally wrong.

I should be that way. The people go off to these hell holes to fight and die in them. Maybe next time the politicians should fight the war. Then we wouldn't have one. Because they wouldn't go.
