I am really concerned about my breast. About 4 days ago, I was looking at my breast and I noticed they were darker than usual. They've been sore for a couple of weeks. I thought I might be pregnant, but the test came back negative. Something doesn't seem right. They are dark and they have gotten a little bigger, they also have an point to them. Kind of like they are hardening, but they're not, they just look that way. They do become hard if my hands are cold.

Are you on birth control? This could be a sign that you are about to start your period. Or, if you're not using protection, you could be pregnant. The signs for pregnancy and starting your period are very similar, so just wait until missed period and then take a test.

These are some of the common changes that occur for breasts when a woman becomes pregnant:

- Growth and enlargement
- Tender and hypersensitivity
- Darkening of nipples and areolas (the skin around your nipples), due to hormones that affect pigmentation of the skin
- Darkened veins along your breasts (due to increased blood supply to your breasts)
- Your breasts may start leaking a yellowish, thick substance known as colostrum
- Nipples stick out more; the areolas and nipples will grow larger
- Small glands on the surface of the areolas called Montgomery's tubercles become raised bumps

However if you're not pregnant changes in the breasts can also occur as it relates to leading up to that time of the month: During menstruation, many women also experience changes in breast texture, with breasts feeling particularly lumpy. These are the glands in the breast enlarging to prepare for a possible pregnancy. If pregnancy does not occur, the breasts return to normal size. Once menstruation begins, the cycle begins again.

Hope it helps.

Some people have reported that as early as conception they can feel the change in their breasts. When a woman becomes pregnant the breasts go through changes to prepare for nursing the baby. You will notice the areola will become darker, you may have raised goose like bumps on them called Montgomery glands. Your breasts may swell and become very tender to the touch. They may even itch. This is all normal in pregnancy.

It is very possible that you are pregnant and just tested too early before. I recommend you trying another test. If it comes out negative again, book a doctors appointment.

The nipple part can get darker. but they dont become harder until after you have the baby and your breast are filled with milk! I really dont think you are pregnant. If you really think you are go to the doctor and get a test by them. The doctors pregnancy tests are never wrong! also you might want to go to the doctor anyway to ask them about your breast. I don't think that that is normal. but maybe it's just a growth spert or something!

Usually with pregnancy the aureole do become darker and the breast become firmer. My husband couldn't keep his hands off of them even when I told him they were sore. Give it a few weeks it could be pregnancy or just hormone fluctuations. Many people beleive they do not darken until after baby and you are nursing, however with both of my children they began to darken at around 4 months.

I am a new mom so I know what happened to me when I became pregnant. My breasts first became very sore than they started to get bigger. My nipples turned a touch darker and the bumps on them started to be much bigger and more pronounced. This is the first sign of prenancy according to my doctor.

at first they look normal then closer to your due date they get a bit biger and about two days after the baby look out pamela anderson ! then they hurt! but hot showers/ bath works to bring the milk out and soften them if you don't want to breast feed ice pacts work and draining atleast a little milk a few times a day will help releave the pain until they start drying up! (this can take up to 2 years to complete!)

You are describing preggy boobies, but did not mention if they were very tender and felt heavy or not. My advice would be to take another test, and see a Dr if in doubt.
