it's very hard to become pregnant when anorexic....but not impossible...when your body fat is so low your period stops making it harder to become pregnant...but if someone who is anorexic was to become or be pregnant it would be a very challenging pregnancy if their not eating the baby will be undernourished and probably have health problems ands that IF this person was even able to carry a baby to term...it would probably just end in a miscarriage unless that person got help for their disorder and actually started to eat but her body is probably so damaged that it wouldn't make much of a difference.but if someone is anorexic and TRYING to get pregnant that's just stupid she should fix her issue first before starving her unborn baby.

Are you dealing with this yourself or just asking? Honestly, I speak from experience....I deal with anorexia daily. I have delivered 5 children...2 while dealing with the ED, and am pregnant now. Yes...it CAN be difficult to get pregnant while dealing with anorexia, but not always. I was 93 pounds with the one when I got pregnant. So people always seem to judge and tell someone like me that I am a selfish person or whatnot. So here's the scoop....
Yes I am high risk for several things, but not just due to the eating issue. Yes, doctor's will recommend that you are considered recovered before you get pregnant. However, keep in mind that an eating disorder doesn't just go away. Like an alcoholic or sdrug addict, that issue will always be there. You could spend years in recovery, get pregnant, and have the same old issues creep back up on you. No one but you can know how you feel. If you are going to get pregnant with an eating disorder, know your risks. Consult with a doctor before trying. Know your own limitations. Know when to ask for help./ Know it will be hard. But don't ever let someone convince you that you should never have a child. That issue will always, always, ALWAYS be there in the background. There is no guarantee that recovery now will be recovery without relapse later....pregnant or not!!!!
Just know when to get help, what you need to really focus on, and what you can do for yourself. My son is nearly 5, and is smart as can be, healthy, and though he is tiny, he has no health problems. Research about it. You CAN do it, whether people say you can or not. I found a doctor who is willing to work with me and help me if there is need......that is important. Good luck!!!

Well when you dont eat your body like shuts down alot of things. I know that alot of womens peirds will stop if they are working out to much or change there eating habbits to eating alot less. Because your body thinks theres a crisis. So if it stops things like periods then you cant get pregnant i would think. If you have an eating problem i would suggest first seeking help befor even considering bringing another life into this world. Right now your not even taking care of yourself what makes you think that you can take care of another life. That baby didnt do anything think twice befor subjecting something so inocent to the life you are living. Help yourself first!

First of all it would be difficult to get pregnant if you are anorexic, second it would be very bad for the baby if you start pregnancy with malnutrition and it would also be bad for you because the baby will rob your body of what nutrients you do have available - it could cause you to have severe health problems - bone and joint problems, tooth problems, hair loss, kidney problems etc, etc.

You wouldn't have a very good chance of getting pregnant if you were anorexic. It would be next to impossible. Being anorexic affects your health in so many ways..it would probably affect your fertility as well.

It would be very bad if your baby didn't get enough nutrients.
Seriously go to a bunch of parenting groups with children under two, it won't take you long to figure out which were born at a healthy weight, which were preemies and which were born at a low birth weight.

it will probably be hard to get pregnant. and once you are, so are going to damage your baby because of the lack of nutrients you are consuming.
i would highly suggest avoiding pregnany if you are anorexic...in fact, get some help for your anorexia. that isnt healthy, attractive, or smart.

You seriously need to think about your health... anorexia cannot be good when you're trying to grow a child. Ask your doctor about vitamin supplements that you can take on top of your regular prenatal vitamin, also... and start eating.
