After 10 years of wearing the number 8 (which he took from his Adidas ABCDE camp jersey 143 = 8), Kobe Bryant decided to don the number he first wore in high school, #24.
In the Lakers organization last year, #24 was used by veteran journeyman Jimmy Jackson.
