I had a cheap nose stud in my nose and it turned the area it touched on my nose green. I bought a real diamond nose ring with 14K white gold and have had it in my nose for about a week. How long will it take before the green spot goes away?? And is there anything I can do to make it go away? I've tried scrubbing it.

okay no I don't get your point...it's not infected or anything. When some people wear a cheap ring or neclace their finger or necline turn green where the jewelry touched their skin. That's all that happened to my nose. Rigt around where the nose ring was there is a green spot.

I understand what you are saying and its going to take time for the coloring to go away. What you should do to help it along is clean the area with Dial soap and warm water and try a sea salt soak a day. Keep in mind, the skin has to regenerate cells to get rid of this and it could take 2-3 months at most. I would just keep the area generally clean, avoid cheap jewelry and give your nose time.

If you are really concerned, look up oil treatements for discolored skin and try soaking in a diluted rubbing alcohol mix if the area is healed.

Combination of various metals are used in making cheap jewellery. when it come's in contact with tender skin, starts reacting and leave a green mark. My advice Spend more on diamond jewlery rather than a doctor.

you need to visit the doctor to make sure its not infected. There is nothing else to do oh yeah there is you could wait for it to change from green to black then that means you would have to get that piece of your face chopped off but don't worry cause you can get a prosthtic like michael jackson.
This is your face and its very importnat its the first thing people see when they meet you. Ok i don't intend to be rude or sarcastic but i'm trying to make a important point. Did you get it?

I don't know why it is taking that long to go away. Try exfoliating there to speed up the skin sloughing process. It's just stained and the new, unstained skin needs to surface.

Try hydrogen peroxide. let it bubble up around the hole. soak your new ring in it, then put it back in your nose. Repeat two or three times a day. Avoid jewelry with high nickel content, you're lucky all you got is the greens.

Try baby wipes. They take off virtually anything. I would also try rubbing alcohol.
