Ok, so I'm really, really stressed out lately. I'm on the NuvaRing and started my period smack in the middle of the month and have had it for two weeks and counting. Grr. I've been told that this isn't abnormal for extreme stress, but it's sure annoying.
My other concern is that I'm already extremely low in iron. My ferritin was at an 8, and the reference levels are supposedly between 10 and 150. I'm dizzy all the time (am taking iron, though) and it's kind of getting worse. Yes, I left a message for my doctor.

My question is this: has anyone else had this happen? If so, what stopped the bleeding? What did your doctor do, and what was causing it?

well, two nights ago I had what my doctor thinks was a miscarriage.
thanks for your answers. Now I have to go see a gynocologist to make sure that's what it was, and that everything's okay.

Okay, first I'm going to ask you not to freak out, and not to get angry. I swear to you what I'm telling you is the truth. I'm 16, and I've had irregular periods for 2 years. I'd have my period, then I'd skip 2 or 3 months, then I'd get it again, really heavy for 9 days. Just this summer, I missed my period for about 6 months, all of a sudden it came back lightly spotting, then I got my period full blown for 12 weeks straight. My mom and I figured it would go away eventually, esp. after going without for 6 months. But when it didn't stop and it got heavier, I was worried about hemmhoraging. So we talked to the doctor, who sent me for blood work. The results came back, and it turned out that I had a hormonal imbalance. I had too much androgen (a male hormone) in my body, and it was causing me to have irregular periods. I was put on birthcontrol, and my period did not go away the first month, the second month (this month) it went away, and I'm so thankful. Trust me, compared to having your period (heavy) for 12 weeks straight, 2 weeks is a breeze. LOL, but I understand your concern. The best thing to do is go to your doctor. Get the blood tests required, and wait for the results. Another cause of irregular and abnormal periods is "Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome" something to talk to your doctor about. However, if your period does not go away in another week, I suggest going and talking to your doctor about getting tests. :) Hope this helps :)

That occurs when you come off BC. It occurred to me earlier than whilst I got here off the capsule and I'm first-class now. I had loopy cycles after that for approximately two months, however then they back to usual. You interval can also be disrupted by way of nearly some thing...
