I took mine at night because they made me sick if I took them as soon as I woke up. I don't remember being told to wait an hour before eating though.

If you can't understand your doctor, you may need to switch doctors. Your baby is more important than sticking with a doctor just because you feel obligated or your insurance says you have to (you can always fight them)!!

There are several different kinds of prenatal vitamins, and some like yours could have adverse side effects. (Although I wonder if being sleepy is just from being pregnant.) If you don't like the ones you are on, ask for a different brand. I don't think it matters what time of day you take them. Just make sure that they include most vitamins and minerals that would be included on a multi-vitamin, folic acid, and omega-3 fatty acids (for brain development.) Make sure you are eating a well-balanced diet, and not trying to cut back your carbs, protiens, or veggies because that is the best way to get your nutrients. Good luck

I am supposed to take mine with food, so I take it after dinner. They don't make me feel the greatest, so I find taking them at night much better than in the morning; that way I can just go to bed if I'm feeling crappy from them, whereas if I took them in the morning, I'd have to go through the day feel like a bag of a*s*s.

I always take mine with food at lunch because if I take them on an empty stomach they make me sick.

It also sounds like you don't have a good relationship with your OB and I'd recommend trying to find someone you can understand and who helps you out when you've got a problem with something.

Prenatal vitamins shouldn't make you sleepy. You should talk to him about that. But don't worry about the time so much. As long as you take 1 every 24 hours, your baby is getting what it needs.

I take them right after dinner. It says to take them on an empty stomach but because I was getting so sick, my doctor told me to take them with food. They don't make me feel sick at all.

i used to take mine at nite cuz they made me feel sick. i know a lot of women do that. and I think you should change dr's if he's not being helpfull. you need a dr you can talk to when your pregnant, one that cares about answering your questions.

I took mine a night. It does not matter as long as you take them!
