There has been over 3000 grammer passage and wording changes in the Book of Mormon since the 1830 print and now. Some spelling problems are found, and some word mix-ups as well, such as "mouldering" for molding, "wrecked" for racked, "constrain" for restrain, and "arrested" for wrested. The ONLY parts of the book free from such errors are the parts which parallel the King James Version word for word. Yet it is claimed the book was translated "by the gift and power of the Holy Ghost, could it make such mistakes? " The Bible manuscripts, by comparison, were (also) written by some unlearned men (Peter, James, John), yet the grammar and spelling in our oldest manuscripts are of the highest quality. God wouldn't have a perfect translation for this new fullfilment of the gospel?

To the question below
http://www.allabouttruth.org/oldest-known-copy-of-the-bible-faq.htm
That is the oldest edition of the bible, free of errors and same it is today.
The Book of Mormon was supposedly translated via the holy ghost, can the holy ghost make mistakes ? if Jospeh Smith was inspired by the holy ghost and by the holy ghost was the only way he could translate would the holy ghost would let him him translate falsely ?

whapingmo...
actually I am an EX mormon and read the BOM many times.
I put the website in response to someone asking who wrote the bible not to prove its authenticity
But i love how mormons dont answer questions and if they do they muddle into their so called MODERN DAY REVELATIONS, AND Start to point fingers at other religions.
BTW Have you guys got a MODERN DAY REVELATION on why DNA debunks your religion ?
I am very much waiting to see what your prophet says about that one.

Mormon Apostle Orson Pratt wrote in 1851, "The Book of Mormon claims to be a divinely inspired record. . . . This book must be either true or false. . . . If false, it is one of the most cunning, wicked, bold, deep-laid impositions ever planned upon the world, calculated to deceive and ruin millions who will sincerely receive it as the word of God. . . . If true, no one can possibly be saved and reject it; if false, no one can possibly be saved and receive it."
Orson Pratt, "Divine Authenticity of the Book of Mormon," Orson Pratt's Works, (Liverpool: 1851)
Mormons claim the Book of Mormon is the most perfect book ever written. Joseph Smith stated, "I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than any other book."
Book of Mormon, Introduction page.
In contrast to the Book of Mormon, the Bible proves to be historically accurate and internally consistent. It also does not have the absurd teachings that we find in the Book of Mormon. The evidence points to the fact that the Book of Mormon is not an ancient historical text, but an 18th century work created by Joseph Smith.
BTW, the Book of Mormon was written using the occult practice of divination. This is not the same as inspiration and power of the Holy Ghost.
Joseph Smith dropped a magical seer stone into his hat, then buried his face in the hat and proceeded to dictate the Book of Mormon. Joseph claimed to see in the darkened hat the words he dictated. Several of the witnesses comment that the gold plates were not even in sight as Joseph dictated the Book of Mormon. This evidence of the actual Book of Mormon translation method has been discussed in at least six different scholarly articles and several books by Mormon historians over the past 30 years.
Divination is the practice of trying to tell the future, or the revelation of some secret knowledge. Divination is practiced by those who have learned to exercise demonic power; whereby, they receive information from demons. Thereby, they are able to deceive those who look to them for secret knowledge. Divination is practiced by fortunetellers, palm readers, treasure/money diggers, and the like.
Deut 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
The pagans who lived in the land of Canaan were driven out of the land because they practiced divination and other detestable things. The practice of divination, in any form, is an abomination to the Lord.
Jer 29:8-9 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.
False prophets were associated with diviners because they did not speak the truth. They were not sent from God, they did not speak for God, and they did not speak the word of God.
Ezek 22:28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
The devil is a liar and the father of liars (Jn.8:44). He tries to deceive many by means of divination. Those who practice divination often claim to speak for God, but they are not from God, they are from the devil. Seeking knowledge of the future, from any source other than the word of God, is an abomination to God.
The practice of divination is the act of seeking secret information from a demon. Furthermore, demons always lead people into idolatry.
The Bible, the word of God, came to us through the prophets of God. The true prophets of God wrote the word of God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit of God. The Bible is the only true revelation of God to mankind; all other revelations, spoken by mankind, are not from God. Therefore, God is totally opposed to all forms of divination. Divination is a sin that God finds to be especially contemptible because it is a counterfeit of the true word of God.

I guess that we can safely assume that you have not even read the Book of Mormon. I would suggest that, before criticizing it, you read it, pray about it, abide by the teachings and principles contained therein, and then tell us what you think. That said, I will try to respond to your accusatory question which is posted only to promote anti-Mormon sentiment.
First, Joseph Smith was a prophet, not God, and therefore imperfect just like you and I. For example, you are supposedly witnessing of the "truth" and inspired. You probably have had much more education than Joseph Smith, who did not even finish grammar school. Yet, in the second line of your argument you make a grammatical error. If you are witnessing of the truth, then why can't the Holy Ghost inspire you? Do you see how absurd the argument is? No, of course the Holy Ghost does not make mistakes, humans do.
If you are arguing that prophets are infallible, then you obviously have not read the bible. There was Moses who was slow of speech and had to have Aaron help out. Aaron himself makes a golden calf that Israel worships. We have Jonah, who did not want to go to Nineveh. There was Isaac who was fooled by Jacob. There was Judas who betrayed Christ and Peter who denies Christ. The list goes on and on. Prophets are only human so, yes; it is understandable that there have been minor errors.
You claim that the bible is free of errors and then site a website, which you obviously have not read, since it does not even remotely make this claim. If you knew anything about the bible you would also know that the bible as it is now, was only compiled a few centuries ago and that the bible used by the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches include other books that are not even in the Protestant bible. So which version is the error free one? Also, no one even possesses the original manuscript for a single book in the Bible. How can you possibly claim to know that it was translated correctly? This is not to mention the fact that there are documented variant readings, geographical problems, misidentified and misquoted scriptures, etc, etc.
Using your logic, should we also disregard the bible? No, we should exercise faith in God and not waste our time on such drivel. We should not judge others as if we were all knowing. We should spend our time living the teachings that are contained in the scriptures, rather than wasting time researching anti-Mormon rhetoric, which only spreads false information and animosity among people who are supposedly Christian.

I do not rather suppose in any of the ones claims. The man wrote it in a seventeenth century sort english and the man lived within the nineteenth century. Makes no feel! A god does not desire a human to translate something and to jot down it down. He could make his possess ebook (or DVD or VHS). Now, that makes extra feel! Also, you do recognise that the church modifies the BoM as soon as in a at the same time? How many revisions has it long past via? There isn't any reformed egyptian. Archeology does not help Joe Smith. No golden plates have ever been located and on no account might be. ~~~~atheist, serving the atheist schedule

Have you ever heard of religion-fiction? Well, that is what it is all about. Come on! If the angel Moroni handed those scriptures over to Joe Smith, why would he need especial eye-glasses to read them? That sounds so phony. If God had granted him with the gift of reading those scriptures, you can be sure it wasn't gonna be with spectacles. Both, writings and magical glasses vanished at a certain expiration date. Wow, how modern! Jesus appeared to American aborigines after His resurrection to preach the Gospel?... Hard to believe. No way, Jose!
As for spelling, I don't think it would invalidate the facts if they would have been truthful. The Holy Scriptures went from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek to Latin and, thereafter, to other languages. Now, the Book of Mormon, according to legend, from heavenly language to English. I would believe that it was more feasible to make translation mistakes in the first of the two books rather than in the most recent one. Men are fallible, God is supposed to be infallible. So, if He would have done the job Himself we wouldn't be debating this issue right now.

What source do you have for the position that the authors of the books in the Bible wrote without any grammatical or spelling errors?
To my knowledge, we cannot even be sure who wrote many of the books in the Bible. There is substantial controversy over the authorship. Further, the original texts do not exist, so anything we look at today is merely one man's copy of another man's work. Since they did not have copy machines until rather recently, those copies are not perfect, and there is dispute over whether well-intentioned people "corrected" the text along the way.

Ever heard of human error? Joseph was not perfect, nor his scribe, nor the printers. No doctrine has ever changed, no gospel truth ever re-written.
I know for a surety, there are no "changes" that make the BOM any less than 100% word of God. People like you focus on these little, insignificant "changes" to try to prove the BOM false... you are grasping at straws. The Book of Mormon is true. Joseph Smith translated the plates by the power of the Holy Ghost, through the Priesthood. I know that for 100% certain.
Good luck.

No the book of Mormon is a translation of Joseph Smith. He was a sexual deviate who was killed by his own church for sleeping with every ones wives.
