Why do some seemingly intelligent people still believe in horoscopes? I didn't even know this was a discussion area on here until today! If you believe this, let me show you where the aliens landed for $5 and I have a bridge for sale.

i have no clue why someone would believe in horoscopes. yeah, right. the stars are REALLY going to be looking out for MY future and they're gonna tell me how my day will go and everything.
i'd much rather believe the truth that theres someone who has a plan for me and they know what i'm going to be doing, not some lies made up by "physics" who dont even know me

Way back when
When Jesus was teaching, and even before that, The stars actually had an impact on life... why do you think the North Star has such a huge meaning in Christmas.

now that we have so many thing in our atmoshere, they deflect alot of these energies.

now horoscopes and such are just fun.

tell me, religon is veiwed by alot of people today as a crutch. you can not see or touch God... who says he's real?

horoscopes may be a crutch... but it helps people believe in something, and they get though their day a little happier.

whats the hurt in that?

Astrology has many ties to religion, the zodiac signs are named after animals/storys from those of the greek/roman pagans. the planets and such are also named after the roman gods.

however its mostly a study now, with thousands of years of practice. of course there are fakes amongst the astrologers and those who try to dumb it down for the masses and make it way to general. a good practicing astrologer might be able to say alot about you.

is it fair to call all people who practice astrology unintelligent. it takes time and quite a bit of logic to see the patterns in the stars and relate it to patterns here on earth. I would say thats far from unintelligent.

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deuteronomy (18:10,11) King James version.

Astrology, channeling, Ouija boards, predicting the future is forbidden. The author of Deuteronomy does not argue that such practices fail to deliver what they promise. But they are "abominations" - perhaps suitable for other nations, but not for the followers of God.

Why the hell do people keep trying to group Astrology with religion? Asrtology is NOT a religion! I love reading astrology...and not just the damn horoscopes in Teen Vogue. Its not a religion...its a study.... I have done my own birthchart. Its pretty right on to my personality.

Trust me..... God doesn't care that Im reading astrology.

Hey I know horoscopes are bulls*** cause I was supposedly born 3 hours into Virgo, so I it both Leo & Virgo profiles perfectly. Man, the Chinese horoscope is more accurate, damn it. Besides, who cares? Man needs religion in one way or another.
