I don't get the whole Kashwak=no-fo, nor do I understand the ending. I need to write a book report on this today. If someone understands, please help! Thank you!

kashwak=no-fo is easy and difficult.
no-fo was something Clay's son used to say and that meant that there wasn't a phone call. The zombie's say it to mean there is no service where they were and that means the zombie's thought there was no way to set off the bomb. kashwak i believe is where they are. meaning there is no service in kashwak so their plan to blow it up wouldn't work because they couldn't get service.
but you've read it and know that it does work. the ending is pretty simple but that's weird for stephen king because his devoted readers are looking for something more but there really isn't anything. he's just trying to turn his son back, and you have to think for yourself on how it ends and answer your own questions.

The ending of the Cell is horrible. On his website the following was posted by one of his fans, "I read recently that a lot of people are unhappy with the ending of Cell. Now whilst this is of course a personal thing, I cannot understand what people's gripe is. The ending - which I am not going to give away for those who haven't yet read it, don't worry - is subtle and sensitively done, which maybe some did not like. Does every story have to end with a catastrophic event? Not all questions were answered, leaving the reader to make their own mind up on certain things, which I liked. Do we, after all, need to be spoon-fed a plot, piece by piece? My guess is that King's next novel, Lisey's Story, will retain this subtlety thought-out, and I for one look forward to this."

The book unfortunately ends with Clay putting a cell-phone to his son's ear, repeating what he would say in pre-Pulse days to his son when there was a call for him: "Fo fo you you". That's pretty much it... ..there really isn't anything deep to it. Sorry, it just wasn't a good end and you really can't make more out of it.
