How can I make the transmission on my 1998 Honda Civivc I just got last........ It has 100,000 miles.

Have it serviced regularly. Fast driving is okay, but F1-like accelerations are a definate no-no. Bring the car to a complete stop before shifting into reverse and also try not to overload the car too often. Transmissions are tough components and only spoil if you abuse them. I've not experienced a single failure with mine, and it has a good 180 xxx kms on it.

All you can do is service the fluids as stated by the manufacturer's manual. Also change the transmission oil grid and oil.

Drive calm, don't accelerate heavy. That's all you can do.
It will fail no matter what you do, all you can do is service it now to have peace of mind, follow manufacturer's recommendations AND PREY.

by pass the cooler in the radiator,they get plugged up over time. replace it with an auxillary cooler, available at auto zone for $45-$65. change fluid & filter every 35,000 miles.

Change fluid and filter,switch to Sync. AFT. and add a transmission cooler.

Normally it will go over 200k miles, do your maintainence.......replace both the tranny fluid and filter ever 30k miles......cost should be less than $100

flush fill and change filter according to mfg recommendations. dont beat it hard.
