No they won't cause you to have an accident. They basically are there to keep dirt out of the valve stem which could cause them to leak. If you go to a gas station where they have the pay for air pumps you can find a bunch of them around there. People forget them all the time. Or go to a mechanics shop that does tires. They have an abundant supply of them and won't charge you to have them. A lot of times they throw out the used ones and they're still perfectly fine

They are called valve stem covers and they keep dirt out of the valve. Won't cause an accident but if you get dirt in them then next time someone puts air in the tires the valve could stick open and the tire go flat.

Are you talking about the valve caps? The chances are very slim. Only a leaky valve will be contained by the cap and that's a very rare occurence. But, it's possible that the valve could empty the tire on the road and cause your vehicle to mishandle. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.

No, I have never heard of any such thing happening. Just make sure you check the tire pressure on a regular bases and if your not comfortable then you could purchase some at the dealership or parts supply shop to ease your mind.

***which tops? the lil screw ons where u fill your tires w/ air? not likely it'll cause an accident. they're just there to protect the needle inside so it doesn't get bent and cause air leakage.

anyone else think it's cute she calls them "little tops"?
Anyway - no, you should be fine - just make sure you check the air pressure regularly
(I'm assuming you are talking about valve stem covers - the valve you use to fill the tire with air)

What little tops? Tread? Yes, you need tread for traction.
If you are talking about the studs on winter tires, they are necessayr if you are driving in low traction conditions (i.e. snow, ice).

no just need to check the air every week or so sometimes the stems leak and the caps help hold air.
