Babies will continue to suckle for comfort even after they are full. My son was 8lbs at birth, and had a huge appetite. By 7 weeks he was drinking 6oz at a time (every two to three hours).

I think 5oz would be about right. She will let you know if she is still hungry. If she spits up a lot after eating, you maybe giving her too much.

Check with her doctor. You doctor can give you an average, but as mentioned, every baby differs.

Good luck!

My baby weighed that weight at birth and ate about 4 ouinces every 3 hours at that age. When my son was 7 weeks old I think he was eating about 6 ounces every three hours. I think it depends on there weight and then you double it. So if your daughter is 8 pounds she should eat about 16 ounces of formula a day. That's what my doctor told me.

I believe in feed on demand, a baby will stop when full. My kids were all breast fed at that age. But you can also take your babies weight and multiply by 2.5 and it will give you the total for the day if your baby weights 8 and half lbs she should be getting about 21.25 ounces total in a day. My doctor told me to use that formula after I stopped breastfeeding to make sure they were getting enough but not too much to eat
