Would it just run out of web, would it keep going? Would it spin itself to death?

no it wouldnt die and it might take a while for it to run out of silk

It could run out since food is what makes the liquid threads. My only doubt on the spider running out of this is that it would feel you tug on the thread and start to climb up or release it and drop without too much of the possibility of it getting hurt.

As long as it has food, it should not run out of "silk."

it would run out of web. it synthesizes it slower than it spins it.
