A good name that means something to you. Unique, but not too unique. Also, please don't name your son a Junior, most people do NOT wish to be a Junior. If you would like name your son after the father, please go with this tradition: Use the father first name as your son's middle name. Here are a couple of places to help you get started on finding that special name.
Baby Name Genie (I LOVE this website): http://www.babynamegenie.com/ The Genie will randomly generate names for you, maybe the perfect one will pop up for you.
Middle Name Generator (so, you've found the perfect first name and you don't want to use the same boring old middle name everyone else has, like Lynn or Marie. This is the website for you): http://www.babynamegenie.com/baby-middle-names/
All right, so you have a name that you really like the sound of it, but what does it all mean? Well you can find out the meaning here: http://www.behindthename.com/
So, now you've discovered you like the name, you like the meaning, but you are wondering if there will be six children with the same name in your daughters/sons classroom, well you can check out the popularity with the Social Security Administration here: http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/
Other name websites I like are:
Baby Namer on Parenting.com http://www.parenting.com/parenting/pregnancy/tools/babynamer/0,20172,,00.html (besides, just a list of names it has a few catefories to get you started in you name search, like Classic Names or Trendy Names)
Baby namer on Oxygen.com http://tools.oxygen.com/babynamer/ (not as wide of a selection as some sites, but does provide some alternate meanings sometimes and some of the names have possible drawbacks (possible teasing nicknames), for example, if you want to name your daughter Samantha, one of the possible things they could tease her with is Sammy-long-legs (like a daddy-long-legs spider). I don't take a whole lot of stock in this, because if kids want to be cruel they can always come up with something to pick on other kids about, but it can make you aware of such things)
Think Baby Names http://www.thinkbabynames.com/ (This website has the best source for variations of names and similar names, the only thing is you really need to know the name you are looking up ahead of time...it's better that way)

Most people would name their first boy after the father, say a Jr. or II. You can get great ideas from baby books and other places. The social security website has a list of it's top 10 baby names for 2005. I chose to go the original route in picking my second child's name. I consulted a baby book. Had his middle name already, was looking for something that went well with it. I came across the name of Rogan, which I absolutely LOVE! Feel free to use it if you like it.

I think you should wait and see what the baby looks like and then name it. That would be much better.
