WTF cares!? Really support whatever nat'l team you want. First, you support your home nation (but even if I was English I couldn't support that uber boring win nothing Land of Eng side) but people always have teams they have a liking for.
For example, Canada sucks at soccer so I support Scotland as my granddad is from there. Scotland suck at it but in the '70s they were entertaining. I also have a soft spot for the France of Platini era and Spain.
My choices of France was due to their quality MF and Spain just because I like the nation.
True passion can be for anything. The only true passion I have on a nat'l team level in any sport is when Canada plays hockey (as in ice to you Brits).

hi, great Q. very perceptive. i guess, we “worship” on different levels. looks and “hotness” are very appealing reasons for some. for others, it’s the magnificent playing. then there are those are impressed by the humanity, the sense of decency, philanthropy, that admirable “men for others” trait. anyway, it's all true passion so i really wouldn't use the word glory hunters or even fake supporters cuz there are just "feelings" you don't have much control of. anyway, i just count myself lucky 'cuz with my fave team and captain (esp. past), i won't have to settle for looks alone....i'm getting the whole package. : )

i know the fact that the Italian team are winners is a point ANGER & ENVY for you,but now you are even envious of the fact that the Azzurri also all look like movie stars,WELL NOW YOU ARE SINKING TO A NEW LOW!

like me, i love allen ezail iverson and i like his team. ppl think i jus watch basketball jus cuz the players look good. yes, the players look good. no, i have a passion for the sport. i use to play.
so, no that is not always the case.
