Your stomach doesn't actually start getting noticeably harder until well past the point that you'll be able to tell with a pregnancy test. I am currently 3 weeks away from giving birth, so I'm pretty confident in my answer!

Your uterus will not start enlarging due to pregnancy for about 14 weeks, at that time you can begin feeling the "Ball like" lump or hardness, depending on how your built.

Your uterus doesn't raise above your pelvic bone until well past when you'd know if you were pregnant or not so you can't tell an early pregnancy by this.

Maybe its just a need to take a big crap?
Hardness of a persons belly is not an indication of pregnancy. And if a person has some flab in that area it can be really difficult to feel the hardness.
