It seems the hotels will do little other than give you a can of spray and let you go after them yourselves. Yuck. Keeping your room clean, free of crumbs and food will likely help too.

When I had a cockroach problem in my apartment, my Dad told me to get Boric Acid and powdered sugar and mix them together. They have the same consistancy and the cockroaches don't know the difference until it's too late. Make sure to put the mixture on something you can slide under cabinets and furniture where pets can not get them. Good Luck! :-)

Be sure to spray the outside of your house, especially around windows and doors. I also spray in damp areas such as around bathroom floors and kitchen floors. I have also been known to spray the bottom of my bedpost. I hate those things. They have survived longer than any other insect. You can use boric acid as well. I don't remember the exact mixture but I feel someone does.
Good luck in getting rid of the evil cockroaches. They have no blood. That is spooky to me.

when i would stay at my in laws house there were always tons of roaches at night. to keep them coming in the room i would do this.. if there are any holes in the wall even a tiny one go and stuff it with toilet paper so they cant get in.. then in the door way i would put a line of lotion from one end of the door to the other and they wouldnt go in cause they couldnt cross it.. also try to sleep on a tall bed, dont sleep on the floor or a matress on the floor cause u will wake up probably with them crawling on u.

If you are staying in a decent hotel you will not have a problem, a shack in the suburbs, look out.
