According to Law of Aerodynamics, bees cannot fly but bees do not follow such law. So how do bees fly? It is one question which science had not given a concise explanation thus anyone can say : "Because God designed them to have the ability to fly".

One of the scientific answers how bees fly correlates it to bees vestigial pair of wings. Scientists who has claimed to finally figure out how bees fly said that "as insects get smaller, their aerodynamic performance decreases and to compensate, they tend to flap their wings faster. The much larger honeybee flaps its wings 230 times every second." "They do extra work (like carrying large loads) by stretching out their wing stroke amplitude but do not adjust wingbeat frequency."♥

In a word: Microfluidics. On the scale of a bee air behaves differently and will seem more viscous to the bee than it does to us. Because of this the bee can use its flat wing to produce lift by creating a "leading edge vortex". The leading edge vortex has virtually no effect on larger scales which is why birds and aeroplanes have curved wings and use a different mechanism to create lift. On the scale of a bee or other insect the leading edge vortex produces a lot of lift. This discovery arguably led to the new science of microfluidics which may also have applications in understanding how blood flows through small capillaries etc. and developing new medical devices etc.

bee fly with wings. there body is so light that they only use a little amount of energy when flying around. bees flap there wings about 1000 times a second because there body's maybe light but there wings are small and they need to flap them that fast to give the bee lift and also there speed.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

You refer to the statement that states that according to law of aerodynamics, bees cannot fly .

of course we humans are on a scale which has to take in the effects of the viscosity of air, bees are small enough to avoid these effects, and thus can fly.

the hair is insulation, because bees are designed to fly when it is two cold for other insects to fly. they can unhook the muscles driving their wings, and warm up the muscles before re-attaching them, thus they can exploit flowers before other nectar drinkers are up and about each morning, thus flying back to the hive, to dance the directions back to the rest of the workers.

when the temperature of the earth was much warmer, insects were bigger, including the early bees, because the air was thicker with humidity, thus they were able to power flight.

Bees are capable of flight because they are light weight. A second reason is since their wings are hydraulic, they can move them at high speeds to produce wind force that is capable of lifting them off the ground. The last reason is that the hairs that stick out of their body don't reduce its aerodynamicy.

Ho Ho Ho! Yes it's because they have wings but if you scaled up a bee it would not be able to fly. With insects being so small the air is viscous to them and flapping their wings is more effective.

i saw this on the telly, it's because they rotate their wings, figure of 8 style getting twice the lift as flapping :¬)
