I want to be in TV commercials and a Soap Extra. Moving to LA seems to be the place and weather would be warmer than San Francisco. I am 40 years old. And confident to start my acting career! I have an acting class and will continue my acting classes/education.

The answer is no. There is a huge misconception that in order to be a working actor you have to live in LA and/or NY. They are big entertainmnet hubs, yes but they are not the edn all be all. In fact I kno wof an actor who lives in Atlanta who is full-time and he does movies, tv and commercials. There are a lot of films that are shot regionally. Canada is a perfect example of a location outside of LA that has a thrivng film industry. North Carolina has a movie studio where tons of movies and tv shows have been filmed. if you want to do commercials, you should look for an agent in your area. LA is a bigger pond, and much more competititon.

For film and TV work, L.A. is the place to start. For work on the legitimate stage, NYC is the place to be.
