They are both something that takes a long time. You may never forget something because there are reminders all the time. As far as forgiving - you have to get over the hurt first before you can forgive.

I don't think you ever really forget a wrong, whether it is done to you or you've done someone else wrong. You can try to put it out of your mind and pretend it doesn't exist, but eventually it'll catch up to you.

Forgiving is easier when you realize that we are all human and each and every one of us has done wrong. One person is not more worthy than another, we are all wrongdoers in need of forgiveness. I don't know what your beliefs are, but when we pray "forgive us as we forgive others" we are asking God to forgive us in the same way we forgive others. That's a pretty sobering thought.

I'd say women are easier on the forgiving side but will never let you forget, and men would be less forgiving but thankfully they forget rather quickly.

I think I just discovered one of the basic social laws governing male/female interaction.

Forgiving is easy, if you believe in the true aspect of all phenomena, which is that we are all connected to one another. Forgetting would be a mistake because the world unfolds the way it should and everything we experience is a lesson in one form or another. Obstacles are benefit because they teach us about ourselves and give us new insight. Dwelling in the past however is detrimental to ones mental health. Live each day as if it were your last. Live in the moment. Rise above your environment and seek happiness within. It's easy if you believe.

You have to learn how to forgive yourself first before you will be able to forget and forgive other. I know, it's tough but what ever
challenges we have in life it will be easier to solve it one step at a time.

Forgetting is easier, because you just erase the event that occurred or erase the person you hate out your memory and mind....Once you have forgotten everything then you get a sense of peace which will eventually lead to you forgiving....

Forgiving is hard but if you don't you can never ever forget. You have to forgive to forget.
