Planting trees is always a wonderful idea for the sake of the enviroment. Sandalwood is found in alot of products so you may be on to something here. You never know what the future may bring investment wise. Sometimes you have to take risks to find out.

Depends on where you are planting them. If they are not native to the area you might have a hard time getting them to establish. To me, it is never a good investment to take up 10 acres with trees you are going to harvest. What is the going price and how many can you grow and manage on 10 acres? Better off to grow ginsing for a long term investment.

As a student, you will not only get great pleasure out of watching your trees grow over the years, but did you know that the value of a property is directly proportionate to the trees on it? I know a number of people in this area I am now living (Northeast Tn) that will buy land with trees on it and then contact a lumber company who will buy all the hardwood trees and more than pay for the property, but the landowner gets the property for nothing and now has a cleared site that would have cost him $1000's to clear himself. In essence, he has now gotten the property for free. Then they build the home of their dreams and start some more seedlings and trees and in 20 years do it again. WOW! So yea, plant trees, ones you like, native trees, hardwood trees, habitat trees, whatever will grow in your area and watch your enjoyment as well as your pocketbook benefit. Good luck to you!

Always good to plant trees. They are good for the environment. Always try to plant at least one tree on Arbor Day.
I would check out both the trees you mentioned as to their hardiness. Some people do not want trees on their property so be careful what you plant because it could be a detriment instead of an asset.

Yes, it is always a good idea to plant trees. Do a little researc and find out what kind of fruit trees will grow in your area and invest in one. That would be very beneficial.
