i've heard that crawling actually helps your child develop better. It's Kids that learn to walk before they crawl that have the problems. Crawling is really good for your children. And they say if your kids walks before they crawl, you should find fun ways and games that involve crawling. Kids that crawl do better in reading and etc studies. Your son crawling at four months just means he's a bit more advanced, his muscles are stronger and he's ready to go! You might consider telling her that she should do exercises with her son, such as laying him down and moving his legs in a sort of cycling motion or running motion, or push gently on them and have him "kick off" of her hands to build up movement and muscles. I think your son is just getting a head start!

Hmmm. Well, my son is extremely bright (per teachers - not just bragging) and he never did crawl. He went from scooting to climbing and them walking. I, on the other hand, was walking when I was just under 6 months old (don't you know my mother just hated that). I wouldn't say that I am overly intelligent, but I'm sure not unintelligent either. I made good grades when I was in school and can carry on intelligent, adult conversations with ease. Or, maybe I am just so dim-witted that I think that I am holding up my end of the conversation. And I do have two hard-headed children, one of which tells me that I'm goofy. Maybe I should have just sat around for a few more months. Hmmm

I don't think it had anything to do with IQ. Some babies don't crawl or they roll around instead. Every baby is different.

I think she is jealous. When they crawl has little to do with IQ. She is not only jealous, she is cruel, poor child will pick that up.

nope. i think she was just jelous. because toddlers who crawl earlier in life develope good skills and are easy learners. So hug your son and be proud. because that lady is just jelous.

It can't possibly be true. All babies are different-- refrain from comparing babies.
