Contact the county courthouse where you were born... where it was originally filed. They will look it up and make copies for you. I do not know for sure, but they will likely charge a small fee.

You can also go to www.vitalchek.com and order a birth certificate online. They work directly with the government and can expedite your birth certificate to you. They have birth certificates for all 50 states and several places in Canada.

Department of Vital Statistics on the New Jersey website can give you all the information you need including fees to apply for a copy.

Go to or call your county records building. You can get a copy from there. I don't know about there, but here in Dallas there is a fee. They should be able to tell you when you contact them.

log on to your birth town county at the court house and records dept. tell them who you are and that should do it.
