No one should watch porn. It is like a drug. It masks a deeper need that should be addressed and it will eventually turn you into a creep. It changes the way you look at/treat women (or men, depending on your "fix").

A husband that looks at porn is setting himself up for failure. He sets an imagined standard of gratification in his head that his wife will never be able to live up to and this will most likely lead to animosity that would not have been there otherwise. It may also breed desires for things his marriage cannot or will not allow. This too will produce unnecessary frustration.

The real question is, why do you want to look at porn? I understand that most everybody wants and enjoys sex, but what are you expecting to derive from simulated sex? We all know, like drugs, it is never enough, and also it can become an addiction, it is demeaning to all parties involved and it wastes time and money (even "free" porn wastes time, as time is money).

A much better use of ones time is to pursuit lasting happiness. Aside from the obvious pursuit of God and eternal life, there are a plethora of hobbies/interests one could engage in such as movie making, writing, music, trading, etc... that can have life changing and long term benefits.

For everyone, but especially for the married man, it is most important to resolve the problem that is causing the desire for porn. This may very well save his marriage.

It's fine with me. You don't own his brain when you get married. The marriage contract is mostly verbal and ill-defined, so unless you make it clear from the start that's what you expect, and he agrees, then you have no basis for your claim now.

If you find later that he likes porn, and you think it dis-loyal, you could talk to him, try to reason with him, and obtain his consent now to establish a further clause to the contract, or, more likely, he'll refuse, and you have to decide if it's worth your marriage to make an issue of it or leave him over it.

Yes, if his wife is fine with it. By doing this some studies have shown that men are less likely to have affairs (it becomes an outlet for desires.) Others show the opposite, they are more likely to cheat. It most likely depends on the man to begin with.

No, if the wife does not like it. She has the right to say he cannot have the "wandering eyes" porn actually is.

I feel that a man married or single should be able to watch porn. There isnt anything wrong with adding a little spice to the bedroom.

Yes, a married man should be ALLOWED to.

with my partner, I don't particularly like it, but it's going to happen.

Should a wife be able to stop her husband from watching porn?
No - what right does ANYBODY have to control another person's behaviour.

If she has a big problem with it, she shouldn't have married him in the first place.

I don't like porn. I am married and if I found out my DH was watching it I would consider it cheating. To me watching it then going to bed with your wife is wrong. The husband is thinking of what he saw and not his wife. I think if a man or woman is single then it is no big deal. Or if the couple like watching it together then it is fine but for one spouse to watch it and the other doesn't like it it is wrong! JMO!!!

No. There's more to life than sex. And there's more to watch on tv than porn. He should try to break that & find something worthwhile to consume his time. Best Wishes!
P.S. Well Said to one of the responders: Yes, it can cause resentment & dissatisfaction in a marriage when you start comparing, which they will!!!

I don't think anyone "should" watch it...it's not a requirement...but I see no reason why anyone who wants to (who is an adult) should not...

Excessive viewing can be a sign of a problem...but an occasional flick is no big deal...married or not makes no difference...in fact married guys probably watch it more...they tend to have less sex than single guys...
