a bit of both

A little of both. You should put 10% of your earnings away for retirement. If you have it removed from your paycheck before you ever see it, you won't miss it. Then you should save enough to get by for three months without a salary incase you lose your job or for some other reason can't work. Once you have that, you should feel safe to spend.

You have to spend on essentials. I recommend that you save 30% first and then spend all that you have to. That way you can do both and be happy.

Both. Save more than you spend though. Also try to put your savings in an interest bearing account.

save

If you can save some, it is better to do so than to blow it. Because I saved money I was able to buy the first two cars I owned with cash. And, when you save, it grows with interest. Save it for special things.

A penny saved is a penny earned.

It is better to save it but way more fun to spend it.

There's nothing wrong with spending, as long as you don't do so compulsively. You should also consider leaving some money aside to ensure that you can live with financial stability.

Save a little, spend a little, and don't put all of your eggs in one basket;)
