We are in debt, we are at war, the only thing going good right now is the economy.
Anyone that wants to work can find a job now.
Answer: REALLY? And just how far does 7.00 hr go in your state?
If the democrats mess up the economy we don't have the resources to cover their blunders.
Answer: Yeah, thats because we've wasted billlions on that sand pit called Iraq. By the way, any idea where that 8.8 billion that went missing in Iraq is? Seen Osama lately? I would go further but im bored.

Regardless which party is in office there's aways going to be taxes and problems.
If you remember your recent history... After going through a recession during Reagan Administration (Republican) and an inflated economy with high unemployment rate and increase taxes during the Bush Sr. Administration, then it would safe to say the Republicans are at fault.
But, with the Clinton (Democrat) Administration, we had low unemployment rate, a zero national debt, and a growing economy.
Once Bush Jr Administration was in affect, we started to have medium to high unemployment rate, and increase in national debt. And finally, we are starting to have a low unemployment rate.
If you're a Democrat, you could say it's Bush's and/or the Republican fault. And if you're Republican, you could say it's the Democrat. And if you're party neutral, you could say that it was because of attacks to America and the mismanagement of information that led the majority ruled Republican government to get us here. Which is as a political analyst said on MSNBC, that is why America wanted a change in political party ruled to hopefully recitifed this mess that America (not just our Government but the people) felt we got ourselve in.
History shows that the Democrats support tax increases across the board and/or increases for the rich. Where Republicans support tax increases for the majority and tax breaks for the rich.
I know because I make six figures and when the Republicans are in office I save money, but when the Democrats are in office I pay more for taxes. While I like to save money, I believe everyone should be pay the same amount of taxes.

Well Republicans build debt. Bush and his idiotic republican cronies started this unnecessary with Iraq. Our soldier are dying everyday to fight a war in a country that never threatend us. The National Debt has doubled. Sept. 11 happened on their watch. And Democrats really only want to tax people like Paris Hilton.
The country has never been in better hands since the Democrats took back the House & Senate. They're even willing to work with republicans which was more than republicans were ever willing to do when they controlled the Senate. What the Dems should do is Impeach Bush just like the GOP tried to impeach Clinton though they won't because they don't want to look bad.

This is really funny...Republicans squander a budget surplus and blame The Democrats.
Republicans are the Party who wanted to take us to War and they blame The Democrats.
I don't know what Country you live in but the economy is not doing as well as you state. If you live in this Country, you must live in a neighborhood full of Mansions where the economy is great for all.
Try asking about your so called good economy in the major Cities throughout this Country.
You say Democrats can't build economies...during Clinton's Presidency, The USA enjoyed a great economy and then Bush came along and squandered the surplus Clinton left behind!
Now I know you Republicans will not admit to any of this because you find it very hard to face the truth, so I know to expect nothing but the thumbs down for this response.
That is about the only power you do have left!

Yes, we are in debt and we are at war, and you can thank the Republican machine for those two things. My two kids are very aware (16 and 21 years old) that they and their children will be paying through the nose for the tax cuts the Republicans have "given" us and for this mess of a war that is bankrupting our nation. At least the Democrats are willing to work on a bipartisan level, I hope GW's declaration of the same intent isn't just talk and no action.

The economy in my state is horrible, and we are losing jobs left and right to outsourcing, largely backed by republicans. That may have been a good idea before, but it isn't now, so yes now is a good time for dems. We also didn't have a clear path to victory or an exit strategy in Iraq, and now the administration is working towards it. We got rid of the secretary of defense (good) and we are now working towards building up the homefront, which has largely been neglected. Dems are wrking for lower prices on RX meds for seniors, rasing the mnimum wage and looking for a solution to help working families have access to affordablr healthcare. These are all good things, and the reps were doing nothing but the war, and war time policies (INCULDING the ARMs for housing and the supply side tax cuts) which were all temoprary situations. The US has always needed the dems to push us forward, and the reps have been there to work foreign policies, of which we have a lesser need for right now. Althought I appreciate your opinions, the american people have spoken, and feel that a change is what we need most, right now. That, and a congress that can balance a budget (hasn't in the past 6 years) BEFORE they give themsleves raises (9 times in the past 6 years). Accountability and responsibility are on order, and the reps haven't proven that they have those things.

Just for the record the republicans have had problems with managing the economy. Reagen cut taxes resulting in increased inflation. then had to raise taxes. Okay not income taxes but placing taxes on gas liquor etc.Bush Sr, first said on new taxes then raised taxes. Republicans have done their share of spending, President Bush in his speaches is forever pledging money for something. Democrats return is good in that they provide opposition and prevent recklessness and that rubber stamp!!

I don't know where you live, but in the USA, the economy has been crap for six years, (hmmmm, what happened six years ago?) Republicans are claiming a strong economy based on six years of crap, and now it is slightly improving. Maybe in another six years we will get back to where we were when shrub took office. shrub took over a record surplus, (from a Democrat,) and turned it into record deficits. Good job.
