You wont see them until after you have the baby. 15-lbs. at 26 weeks means you will probably hit at about 20-25 lb. weight gain which is typical for your size. If you've always been small and never had much weight fluctuation, you will most likely have some stretch marks in the lowest part of your belly even with moisturizer. If your boobs get big, look for them on the underside after they go back down. My and my sisters are about your size/weight and we all got stretch marks down low on our bellies but they hide with a bathing suit. I gotta tell ya tho....after having two miscarriages before having my son, I consider my stretch marks a badge of honor.

I started getting mine when I was around 7 1/2 months along with my first son. With my second son I got a little bit bigger , so during the last month, the stretch marks seemed to just continue where they had left off with the 2nd, then I didnt get big enough with my 3rd baby for anything to happen. It all depends. But stretch marks are mainly genetic. Some people have skin that has good elasticity and never get them, others get them horribly. You can usually look at your mother and if she has them from being pregnant then you probably will too. All the cocoa butter in the world wont help. I used it alot.

Everyone is different and it's based simply on you. I thought I was clear on the stretch marks -- I didn't get a one up until the week before I had the baby and then all hell broke loose -- I even have them on my boobs, hips and stomach. I didn't gain that much weight throughout the whole pregnancy either. I've heard drinking lots of water, slow weight gain and keeping your skin moisturized will help some -- but only some -- the rest is just up to your genetics. Good Luck and don't worry too much about it.

I didn't notice mine until after the pregnancy was over. Just use some Palmers Cocoa butter everyday and maybe take some vitamin E in capsule form everyday. You can't really do much to prevent it hun it all depends on the natural collagen found in ur skin. Try to not gain unecessary weight so don't eat alot of junk. Be healthy and take walks and move around the house and stuff. Congratulations! I wish you a healthy happy little baby!

At least half of all pregnant women get stretch marks, but no one really knows why some women get them and others don't. Research suggests that genetics plays a role: If your mother or sister got stretch marks during pregnancy, you're more likely to.
Whether you'll get stretch marks also depends on how much and how quickly your skin has to expand during your pregnancy.

I asked my doctor during my last pregnancy about the stretch mark thing. She told me that it is hereditary. My mom had stretch marks and I have a road map on my tummy. I lost 20 lbs during my first trimester and then gained that plus 40 pounds back.
I wouldn't worry about the stretch marks, I think of mine as a "trophy" for making it thru pregnancy.
Good luck!

You shouldn't if you are keeping your skin moisturised. Believe me you don't want stretch marks. They never go away. Even when you lose weight after the baby they will look like scars. You are early to get them. You'll probably get them within your last 7 weeks of pregnancy. Congrats! And put an aloe or cocoa butter based cream on your belly and above your pubic hair line, (Yes you get them there too), and you breasts. And if you get the stretchmarks there should be few and the ones you do get will go away if you keep putting cream on. You sound like you're doing great. THe best of luck to you and your baby.

every ones body is different. and everyones skin stretches different.
some women never get stretch marks! Some get them right away. Some come a little later. I had this friend that was so happy that she didnt get any stretch marks. then one morning she woke up when she was 9 months pregnant and her tummy was full of them. so you never know! good luck. and good for you if you dont get any! I only have one little one on my hip and i hope it stays that way!

I only got strech marks with my second child at about 7 months (he was a very large baby) into the pregnancy, I am a small build to and did not have any with the first one. Just keep lots of lotion on your stomach it will help skin strech but sometimes strech marks are inevitable. Don't worry too much, you can only see mine if I point them out.

Stretch marks are common but do not always develop. It depends on how much your stomach becomes stretched during your pregnancy.
Most women do not want to have stretch marks. If you do not, if you apply some baby oil or take oil baths you can greatly reduce the chance of getting stretch marks.
Congradulations by the way.
