Actually Kay is wrong. The head scarves are NOT mandatory in the Muslim religion (though very highly encouraged) in the United States and in non muslim m=countries. However in Muslim countries it IS required (sometimes even of non muslims) SO I think you should have the right to wear turbins/scarves and have the right to wear crosses (visebly)

In my opinion While turbans are required by some faiths not all Turban wearers are doing so for religious purposes some do it for cultural purposes. Therefore the turban itself is not a particularly religious symbol any more than a Fez or Fedora. the Cross However, is definitely a religious symbol. So while I agree there is a double standard practiced in many societies regarding Christianity. I am not sure that that is best exemplified here.

I even ought to remark for the great aspect about the answerer above me, French establishments do not enable the wearing of any non secular products on their grounds. This has been the case for a lengthy time period now, and has brought about a lot outrage on the area of the Muslim community in France, yet is rather in holding with French egalitarianism, which strongly enforces the separation of church and state. I even ought to assert, also, I have lived the following contained in the USA for 15 years, and characteristic by no potential heard of crosses being banned from public faculties; many colleges, in truth, have Christian golf equipment on their campuses.

You don't have to wear the cross to be following the religion. People that wear turbans have to wear it to follow the religion. So in that way I dont think it is a double standard. But then the article said something about bangles being okay? That is not religious at all, so in that regards that seems like a double standard.

Yes it is. No matter what our current events or or how we feel about muslims due to society. We need to remember they are people just like us. They have feelings and culture and religion like us. I had a friend who said Allah would never tell anyone to kill for the sake of the religion. We need to change the way we view Muslims and accept them and stop judging them. We are all the same despite our religion, skin color, culture, or the way we dress. I live my life by the Golden Rule.

Yes, double standards. The only religions it is permissable to make fun of or persecute is Christians and Jews. Expect it to get worse, considering biblical prophecy.

Sikhs wear turbins. Ignorance is a disease.
No religious items should be banned.

all the racial hatred in the world is mainly down to double standards and the fact that muslims seem to be allowed to get away with anything where as the rest of us can't

The British continue scolding their own people, denying their own religion, trampling their own traditions and language all in a insecure and cowardly attempt to appease those who cannot be appeased.
