I have had constant sinus problems for over 5 years. It started out with nosebleeds occuring often and now I get horrible headaches and it feels, at times, like my brain is becoming detatched from my head! I get constant post nasal drip, and it's really dry feeling. They're always swollen and it's difficult to breath.
I was put on antibiotics first, that didn't work. Then I was put on 3 different nasal sprays, not sure what they were but I know there were steriods in some of them, they didn't help. I am currently using what is called a Netti Pot, which you put a mixture of salt water in and run it through your nose, and that helps the soothing. But nothing FIXES!! Please someone tell me what I need to do!!

RE: I'm not so sure I trust any 'drugs' at this point. As far as I know Anti-biotics only make things wose by increasing the chances of a candida infection. By the way I was on a Yeast Free diet for 2 months also. Didn't do much for the sinuses.

The thing with the neti pot is that you must continue to do it. It's not going to "fix" you. Western medicine encourages us to think we can find a pill to "fix" us, but generally it's lifestyle changes that make us healthier. I don't know about what lifestyle changes would help you, but perhaps a naturopath or ayuvedic physician would.
I was, in fact, "cured" by nasal flushes. But when things get dry, or if my allergies begin to act up, I need to flush daily. When I feel an infection coming on, I do it twice a day, and when I have an infection, maybe even as frequently as hourly (it helps if you're home in bed drinking fresh organic vegetable broth and resting). The mixture I use is 8 oz water w/ 1/4 tsp each baking soda and salt. I don't use a neti pot, I use a baby nasal aspirator, but I don't know how important that difference is.
If I didn't get relief, though, I would see an ear/nose/throat specialist. Some people really do need surgery and stuff. Hope you feel better soon.

I have a constant sinus problem too! With the nasal drip. It drives me crazy. I do the snort the "sea" salt water bit, burns like a son of a gun, but gives me a lot of relief....and then I take Benadryl.....some accuse me of being addicted..no I do not exceed the recommended dosage I just take it faithfully on a regular basis. It helps me more than anything else. I sympathize with you it is not a pleasant situation to deal with. Been down this road for years. Good Luck!

Sounds like you have severe chronic sinus allergies.I suggest you get a second opinion Im sure with all these drugs out nowadays that there is something out there that can help you. All that salt water stuff does is try to help the congestion and thats about it. You need some REAL drugs.

Just comply with your physician's recommendation. Try respiring by way of your nostril. It's now not going to occur over night time. Take a while and are available to the awareness that that is going to take a whilst so that you can get adjusted to. Take small steps... every time you uncover that you're respiring by way of your mouth, quit and take a look at to respiring by way of your nostril. Eventually it's going to grow to be moment nature and you will not even need to suppose approximately it. If you uncover that you've got disorders... you can also need to don't forget the surgical procedure. Since your mother is a physician you must speak to her and inform her your matters.

You may not want to hear this, but I had problems identical to yours and ended up having sinus surgery. They drilled out my sinuses, and I have not had a problem since. The initial pain from the surgery was he*l, but the result was worth it.
