NATURE, you are meant to breastfeed as that is why we have breasts!

My breastfed baby wont take a bottle at all, she wont even take a pacifier, I thought about switching to formula many times but my baby would never take the bottle without a huge fight and she would scream and me and my hubby tried all kinds of brands of formula, bottles and pacifiers. They definetely prefer the breast but as for the reason id guess its for multiple reasons such as instinct, comfort, taste. Breastmilk tastes good as it is sweeter than formula and it is the perfect food. I had a real hard time getting mine to come in but im glad I never gave up. I have plenty now and its more convenient than bottles. She rarely has spit up and no painful gas that I could tell.

Actually I don't believe they "prefer" breastfeeding over bottle feeding. It is actually easier for babies to get milk out of the bottle than breast (better flow). The fact is breastfeeding is simply much better for them than baby formulas from the bottle. FYI, I breastfed both my babies and I will do it again, if I have any more. It's the only way to go!

Because breastfeeding is the natural way for a human baby to eat. It's healthier. The milk is sweeter and the flavor varies some with mom's diet. It's easier to digest.

thats not strictly true. Usually when you start offering a baby a bottle they will give up the breast fairly quickly as it is easier for them to feed from a bottle.

I think it is because they like the feel of their mother, plus all the comfort. You know babies bond faster to their mother that way too.

Not all babies do prefer it. Really it is a parental preference. The American Association of Pediatrics have several strong arguments to support it but it does come down to parental preferences.
