It is just one of the many wives tales. If you feel it move earlier you could be very thin like me or your uterus can be just in the right spot to feel it earlier. I felt my baby move at 14 weeks and kick pretty good for what I was expecting at 17 weeks. A few other wives tales is you can tell if it's a boy or girl by heartbeat or by where you are carrying it. Not true! But if you want, have fun guessing just don't be upset if it turns out not so.

Every baby is going to be different.
Lets keep in mind-
This is my first pregnancy and im small woman, only 115lbs and 5 foot 6.
I didnt feel my daughter moving until I was 20 weeks pregnant.
I am currently 26 weeks and Ive come to find that every day she is different. Some days shes very active and others shes not.

File this one under "Old Wives Tales"...nothing is certain until you give birth. I just saw an episode of A Baby Story on TLC and the couple was told they were having twin boys and when she gave birth out came a girl followed by her sister! Talk about having to redo a nursery!!!

Obviously there's no proof of this scientifically, but my first baby was a boy and I didn't feel him moved until around 20 weeks.. My daughter however, I felt around 15-16 weeks.. Isn't that funny?? Good luck

I think the amount of activity is more of an indicator than the timing. In my experience, boys are definitely more active in there than girls.

If that is true, then I should have a little girl. My son kicked and kicked all day long and all night. This is something that an ultrasound can tell you, not a baby's movement because every baby is different.

Just another "old wives tale". So many of these float around about pregnancy. A lot of people believe it, but think about it...the odds are 50/50! Just wait until you have an ultrasound (and even then, it's not always 100 percent accurate!)

This exercise is more effective than old wives tales. Wanna know the sex of your baby before the doctor? Talk to your unborn baby! if you don't know how to "talk" to them, look down at your belly and start talking to them out loud or in your mind and rubbing your belly at the same time.
Ask your baby to visit you in your dreams and reveal their gender to you.
They may also appear what they may also look like for your request.
Don't worry if you feel they won't understand you, their "spirit" knows.
Try it and see :-)

I felt my son sooner since he was my second and he was more active but I don't think this is always the case.
