I try to as well using the F and J homekeys, but I tend to lapse when it comes to numbers and dashes. I also have to have a jumbo backspace key :-) (for the smiley face I didn't need to look for the colon, but I did for the dash and parenthesis hehe).

Learning to type correctly does increase your WPM, although I had someone tell me they could type faster than me the hunt and peck way. Sure, but you don't see all the mistakes you made along the way.

I try to, but I have certain idiosyncrosies that are hard to get rid of. When I use 'shift', I tend to only use the right-shift button. My boyfriend types with his left hand on the keyboard, and then uses only 2-3 fingers of his right hand.

I do, and it allows me to type much faster than hunt-and-peck typing. I can type about 55-60 words per minute.

what is the wrong way??
i touch type and my fingers reset to asdf jkl;
and my fingers never cross just move up and down.
