War on terror is a statement made by George Bush. He is the No.1 terrorist . He also said last week that that the troops cannot withdraw from Iraq because he wants to control the oil. So that is the real reason for war, OIL ! If you are against this, then you are definitely not unamerican. America was a respected nation until this fanatic started the beginning of a possible 3rd world war. Now peaceful countries have started developing their nuclear capabilities to protect themselves from the USA, and putting the rest of the world at risk. I dont think you are unamerican, your president is, and unfortunately, the innocent ones always have to suffer.

OK, need some clarification here.
Are you against the war on terror
or
do you disagree with and question the war in Iraq.
There is a difference. Pardon me but there is a lot of terrorism going on in the world, correct? So defending against and responding to terrorist attacks is appropriate. Yes or no? To me, yes, you respond to an attack on your country and people.
Disagree or question the war? No, I don't think that makes you un American. But are you questioning the "war on terror" or the war in Iraq?
If you are against the "war on terror" and people continue to attack the US, its citizens and its military assets like the USS Cole...how long is it reasonable to not respond to the war brought directly to us?
Personal opinion. I think you can disagree with the war in Iraq and not be unAmerican. But I don't see how anyone can be against the war on terror after 9/11.
Sorry I can't be any more clear, there are just so many variables that each person has to take into account in making their own decision.
I am a former Army officer; field artillery and spent 18 months in Iraq. I am not against the "war on terror".
Just a note....
The BIG LIE link that the 1st resondant; Michaelsan, wants you to view is a history of Hitler, his Nazi buddies, the Third Reich and their propoganda machine. I am alway concerned when people try to link the USA, which was the centerpiece in toppling this regimen and lost countless soldiers in the conflict, to NAZI Germany. The same concern arises when they talk about Stalin and the US in terms of similarity. But that's what the 1st Amendment is all about.

I don't think that it's a question of being against the war on terror. Everyone knows that there are elements in the Middle East that hate America and want to destroy us. The question is Why Iraq? Iraq was "painted into a corner" by the UN sanctions and the no fly zone in years following the first war. It's been proved that there was no collusion between Iraq and Al Quada. No WMD's. No one has really come out against the efforts in Afghanistan but why Iraq? Should we not be holding Saudi Arabia's and Iran's feet to the fire for their support of international terror? The evidence keeps pointing their way.
It is not un American to question our leaders motives. It's our patriotic duty as Americans. To do otherwise is to blindly follow and surrender our freedoms to tyranny.

I don't think that anyone can give you specific answers to this question because you have asked it in very broad terms.
However, you need to understand a difference between disagreeing with something and actively campaigning against something.
For example, I can disagree with an order, but follow it, and still be within the limits of what is considered legal. Or I can disagree with an order and disobey it, thereby breaking the law.
With regard to the War on Terror, you can disagree. Or you can disagree and actively work to further the cause of terrorist. The majority of the liberal media would fall into this category and their actions should be considered unpatriotic.
I don't know your specifics, but I hope that helps.

You aren't unamerican. Some people just listen to the propaganda and media BS. I'm an army veteran, and I'm against the "War on Terror" but I'm more American than most people in this country. I was in the 101st and served in Afghanistan. How many Americans do you know did that?

I don't think most people are against the War on Terror... but many are against the way we're fighting it...
that's where I stand... read the 9-11 report and go after the countries and organizations listed...
Bush and Republicans have not done that... at all really...

If you're in the US Air Force then kudos to you.
i think that's about as American as anyone can get.
those who consider people against the war as unamerican are just plain ignorant. i wouldn't pay any attention to them.
i think this war has gone way off course and lost sight of its initial objectives. i'm against it myself.

I don't consider the US military inherently bad. It is unfortunate that you are tasked to fight on the orders of an UNelected dictator. You are a true American if you value the Constitution over ANY individual. That's why we put George III out of work in the Colonies, and for some of the SAME reasons that THIS George should be out of work. You are in fact sworn to that Constitution, right? You don't have easy choices to make. I wish you well in your life.

Do not confuse the war in Iraq with the war on terror. These are 2 different things. Iraq war was about personal retaliation by Bush family. It's well known that Hussein tried to assassinate old president Bush - so here we are finding ourselves in Iraq, loosing thousands of lives just to get Hussein. War on terror, on the other hand is necessary. If we want to continue living they way we do today, of course.

One answer: the big lie. It is part of a national strategy to pit one against the other to distract from what is really going on. If you are unamerican, perhaps you will be more likely to keep your mouth shut. Worked pretty well didn't it. With all dissenters fearful of being branded traitors midst all the patriotic furvor, so much has happened unchallenged and uninvestigated. Maybe someday we will be out from under this negative cloud, and your voice and mine will be allowed to be heard without fear. Not yet.
