Okay, now, we've all seen the videos, but if I really wanted to do the "2 Liter Diet Coke as the Space Shuttle Launchpad", any hints on How To? I'm talking about the guys who are holding the bottle over their head, throw it down on the ground, then the bottle goes flying, about 50 yards. My questions:

- Do I dump the whole pack of Mentos in?
- Do I (try and) put the cap back on?

I have made 2 liter bottle rockets using water, a tubeless tire valve, a bicycle pump and a 2 liter bottle. It goes about 100 feet up if you do it right.

No, just a couple of Mentos is sufficient to make a significant geyser; and the effect happens very fast so there is no time to replace the cap.

The problem is, while it makes a very impressive foam geyser, there is not enough thrust to accelerate the 2 kilograms of liquid in a full bottle against gravity. You can't use the stream to make a bottle rocket in other words.

a couple of mentos, and you put the cap on (but if you get a bottle with a sports cap fill it with water and add in three indegestion tablets put the bottle with the water and the indegstion tablets in a glass and give it a shake it does the same trick.)

I've never done this one, but I'm guessing that to both your questions, the answer is YES
