I am pregnant!! YAY! Anyways, I'm due on 4/25/07. I was just wondering how off the doctor was when he first told you your due date. Such as they go by your first period. I realize that sometimes when you have an ultrasound things can change. I was just curious from all the woman how much things change? Like a week, a couple of days, two weeks... not at all?? I am sure there will be mixed answers on this one. But come ye come all. I'd sure like to know. Everyone woman is unique. Just curious. Thanks.

Yes, I have my period on the 19th of July. I found out in early September I was pregnant. I didn't really know what to look for because I thought I just had a really bad flu the 3rd week in August.

A due date is just an average based on your last period start date......then the size and developement of the baby can change it.........I knew exactly when my period date was and the exact day I concieved because I was temperature and mucus charting.......but even with the exact due date.it's still just an idea of when to expect baby..........

have you ever had your period?

I have had 3 kids. One was two weeks late. Then 4 weeks early. Then 2 weeks early. But if you are talking about the due date changing in early pregnancy then with my first it changed 4 times. Only by 2 weeks. With my second it never changed. And with my 3rd it changed by 2 weeks. I am currently pregnant and I SHOULD be due on the 25th of may. But when I went for my first ultrasound (6 weeks) they changed it to the 6th of June. Which is 2 weeks later than what my last period would have made me. Good luck.

CONGRATS!!!!!!

My first was 5 days late, my second was exactly on the due date, and the third was 2 days early. What was interesting (to me!) was that my cycle had got shorter with the pregnancies, originally it used to be about 30-33 days. So I figure you are fertile 14 days before your period, rather than 14 days after - get it? And they do the calculation for a 28 day cycle. From other indications of ovulation I also think that this was true for me.

This is a fun question! I have five children and here are their due date stats: 1st child born at 39 weeks and 3 days
2nd child born at 40 weeks and 3 days
3rd child born at 38 weeks and 5 days
4th child born at 36 weeks and 6 days
5th child born at 38 weeks and 2 days
Ultrasounds are unreliable at giving an exact due date in my opinion. Going by your last period was the best predictor for me. As you can see, every pregnancy was different. Don't ask how I remembered all of those stats though!

CONGRATULATIONS!! Every ones body is different an ultrasound will confirm your exact due date. For your first baby if you are a little early it will be about a week to ten days. But expect it to be pretty close to your due date. Good Luck with the baby and try not to find out what the sex is..... it makes labor much easier because of the excitement of not knowing what you are going to have..

My daughter was 2 days late. However, my labour started the morning after my due date!

My original due date changed when I got my ultrasound. It wasn't much - about 3 days later if I remember correctly.

My eldest was textbook pretty much to the day.My other 3 were medically intervened due to losing fluid and a placental abruption,Then my 4th baby was delivered early cos of the previous abruption.

I went into labour with the first one cos I had a curry and then sex.Literally seconds after we'd finished my waters went.

Only 5 % of babies arrive on their due date. It is normal to be up to two weeks early or late.

Mine arrived 9 and 11 days late. I was 10 days and my brother was 5 day late.

My baby was 8 days late. I was born 2 weeks late, my brother 2 weeks early and the other brother I think was on time.

With my first two pregnancies my babies came on their due date. They went by my LMP and ultra sounds. My third baby came a month early. But I told the doctor that he was wrong about the dates on my last pregnancy. So according to my dates my son was right on time.
