Only if you think you have some semblance of moral standards, if you care about insurance costs rising, or if you care about protecting an innocent person (the person being sued... and if it's a business, then if you care about the employees who won't get raises, Christmas bonuses, or possibly even get a pink slip when the company has to "down-size").... otherwise, no.

You could say something but will probably need to show real proof the person is faking their injury. Go with your feelings.

Yes. It is always possible that that person wins and the defense discovers you had prior knowledge that the claim and his/her testimony was false you might me charge with something like accessory after the fact.

Besides...it's the right thing to do.

It will bother you if you don't because deep down you already know the right thing to do. I would report it and even if you don't have proof up front, the insurance co. will do a private investigation anyway.

If you are sure then I think it is your moral obligation to say something. It might effect your friendship with the other person, but if you don't it's on your karma.
