You're much better off using Firefox anyways, so this may be a blessing in disguise.

Check your firewall settings, router settings...

Is this a recent problem? or is the computer new?

I use Firefox myself and the main reason I like Firefox is because it's customizable. Why is customizability important?

Imagine being able to do 2 small things and never seeing a banner ad, flash ad or an iframe ad again? (Remember, pop-ups are already gone)
Imagine being able to pause your computer's music player when the phone rings without having to switch to it?

Firefox puts the power back in your hands!

Sound like you are using either Norton Internet securities or the McCaffee equivalent. These are software firewalls that gum up your system in the name of Virus Safety. If I am right then disable the software by right clicking on the icon at the bottom right and choose "disable". Then see if you can use IE to do your games. I may be wrong but this is a classic symptom of a firewall problem.

nicely i'm on Virgin .. and have had PCGuard till now .. yet i got here across that collectively as ever it became into on my device I had not something yet problems. couple that with the reality that Virgin look continuously "updating" or "having problems" I observed it extra as a difficulty that and aide. So all issues seen, i could bypass with AVG.. it is unfastened and the updates are there to be downloaded.
